Local amenities
Leeds is a fantastic city for shopping – it is home to the famous Trinity Centre, which has a huge variety of stores as well as eating establishments and an Everyman cinema.
The high-end Victoria Gate centre houses luxury brands in stunning Victorian-inspired architecture. There is also the Kirkgate Market, one of the largest indoor markets in Europe. Whatever you’re looking for, you’re sure to find it in Leeds city centre.
Leeds has a huge variety of fantastic places to eat, from exciting fine dining options to cheap and cheerful street food. Some highlights include Gaucho, Tattu and experimental The Man Behind The Curtain.
Leisure
Leeds is a lively hub of activities and you’ll never be short of things to do at the weekend. From escape rooms, cinemas, climbing walls, casinos and museums, there is something entertaining for everyone.
The city is home to a number of famous sports clubs including Leeds United, Leeds Rhinos and Yorkshire Carnegie the two rugby clubs and the successful Yorkshire County Cricket Club. All of which have home playing ground for you to watch and support.
Within the city centre you can find a number of theatres, including the Grand and the Playhouse. There are also a number of engaging museums and galleries to be found, including the City museum and the Royal Armouries museum.
Slightly further afield there are an incredible variety of places to visit. From beautiful stately homes (Harewood House, for example, or Temple Newsam), to spacious parks and nature reserves, such as Roundhay Park and Golden Acre Park. Leeds benefits from being surrounded by wonderful rural areas so it’s well worth exploring these green spaces
Transport
Leeds is very well-connected so you won’t find any problems getting around the city centre, local towns and further afield. Leeds’ station is large and the third busiest in the UK, with 47 total platforms offering connections to most areas within the country.
Leeds Bradford Airport is conveniently located about 7 miles from Leeds city centre and provides direct and connecting flights to destinations around the world.
